Pesaro, Gabicce, Gradara, Sassocorvaro, Macerata Feltria, Carpegna, Pennabilli, San Leo
The Adriatic Sea is not far from Montefeltro. The journey begins in Pesaro, a coastal city, an ancient Roman colony, and the homeland of composer Gioacchino Rossini. Onwards to Gabicce Mare, passing through the San Bartolo regional park. The journey continues to Gradara, whose majestic fortress was the setting for the tragic love story of Paolo and Francesca.
Returning to Pesaro, we pass through Sassocorvaro, another medieval fortress, Macerata Feltria, and Carpegna, which is famous for its delicious ham exported all over the world. We continue to Pennabilli, one of Montefeltro's most evocative villages, and conclude our journey in San Leo, where another imposing fortress proudly dominates the surrounding landscape.
